Don't know where the summer is going

Can't believe it has been over a month since I last wrote a post. Not a very dedicated blogger I guess! Life has been busy but in a good way. My husband, son and I split our time between our homes in CT and RI. Our daughter who lives in Boston tries to get to RI most weekends.
We are so fortunate to have a quiet beautiful home on the water in RI. We spend most of our time in the screened in porch looking out on the salt pond and ocean. Most days we don't even get to the beach- it is just too nice and peaceful where we are. Sunday I usually walk with a group of friends and then share breakfast and talk. In the afternoon I crew for my son in the Beetle cat. Some Sundays we have good races, some not so good but I always enjoy being on the water with him. He is a very good and confident skipper.
Not to mention patient with me. I get lots of time to read, or sew ( usually hand sewing) or wasting time on the computer. Very relaxing. I had won Does This Beach Make Me Look Fat by Lisa Scottoline and her daughter Francesca. Very amusing- great beach read.
I had requested All The Light We Cannot See from the library. I was #245 for the book so I decided to buy it. I am so glad I did. It was beautifully written and I enjoyed not only the writing but the characters. It was a very interesting perspective of World War II and the bombing of Saint Malo. What made it a bit more interesting for me is that my husband and I are planning on visiting the WWII sites in France- Normandy etc. Now Saint Malo is definitely on my go to list.
When we go back to CT it is always a bit crazy to fit in everything I have or want to do- doctor appointments, visit with my mom, errands and house upkeep. I try to get together with friends for a few holes of golf, breakfast or drinks. This week I have a voting moderator's training session to add to the agenda! All good stuff. Life is pretty darn good.
