We needed to switch our book selection for this month. The Bastard of Istanbul is the April book choice and Lorrie Moore's book will be read for May. Meeting next week so I guess I should start reading. Just finished Oggy, a sad/happy story abut about a Dogo (a breed of dog that looks like a pitbull) who was a "bait dog"- a bait dog is used to train other dogs to fight. Oggy was physically and mentally abused and that made it a hard and difficult read however he did get rescued in a police raid and brought to a vet who managed to save him and find a wonderful home for him. He survives several surgeries to fix his face and skull and showers his family with love and kisses.
